Один из переводов слова свадхьяя — «самоанализ» (сва — «само», дхьяя — «размышлять, медитировать»). Иначе говоря, это ягья, в процессе которой человек пытается понять свою собственную природу. Также свадхьяя — это изучение писаний и повторение мантр.
