«Истинно говорю вам: один из вас предаст Меня».
В этой сцене меня всегда поражал не сам факт предательства. Не поиск виновного. Не желание сразу найти того, кто сделал неправильный выбор.
А реакция учеников.
Они не спрашивают:
«Кто это?»
Они спрашивают:
«Я ли это?»
Потому что предательство приходит не от чужого человека. Иуда не был врагом. Он был одним из двенадцати. Он сидел за одним столом. Он был внутри круга любви.
И именно поэтому в работе для меня важна не только общая сцена Тайной вечери, но и отдельная ото всех фигура Иуды внизу справа.
Он отделён от остальных. Голова опущена. В складках одежды спрятан серебренник. Не просто деньги, а уже тяжесть совести.
Над ними полная луна - холодное серебро ночи. Серебро монет и серебро света. Цена предательства и свет, который остаётся.
Мне хотелось сохранить это противоречие: любовь и предательство могут существовать рядом. Самое страшное здесь не то, что предаёт кто-то чужой. Самое страшное - когда человек, которого любят, сам выбирает выйти из этой любви.

Я продолжаю серию «Символы веры» и снова работаю с коллажем. Мне близка эта техника, потому что она сама говорит о человеке: мы все собраны из фрагментов - памяти, опыта, решений, случайностей. Иногда из этих частей складывается целое. Иногда они вступают в конфликт.
«Я ли это?» - вопрос учеников в тот вечер. И вопрос, который спустя века всё ещё остаётся открытым.

“Truly I tell you, one of you will betray Me.”
What has always fascinated me in this scene is not only the betrayal itself. Not the search for the guilty one. Not the desire to immediately identify the person who made the wrong choice.
But the reaction of the disciples.
They do not ask:
“Who is it?”
They ask:
“Is it me?”
Because betrayal does not come from a stranger. Judas was not an enemy. He was one of the twelve. He shared the table. He was inside the circle of love.
That is why in this work I focus not only on the general scene of the Last Supper, but also on the small figure of Judas at the lower right.
He is separated from the others. His head is lowered. He hides the silver coins in his hand. Not simply money, but the weight of his own choice.
Near him appears the moon - cold silver light of the night. Silver of the coins and silver of the moon. The price of betrayal and the light that still remains.
I wanted to preserve this contradiction: love and betrayal can exist side by side. The most frightening thing is not that a stranger betrays. It is that someone who is loved can choose to step away from that love.
I continue the “Symbols of Faith” series through collage. This technique is important to me because it speaks about human nature itself: we are all assembled from fragments - memories, experiences, decisions, and accidents. Sometimes these fragments become a whole. Sometimes they enter into conflict.
“Is It Me?” is the question of the disciples that night. And a question that remains open centuries later.
